Transport options include private transport (pick-ups) provided by us, local buses or your own vehicle (4wd or high clearance vehicle recommended). The road is steep and rough, but the impressive landscape and picturesque communities that you pass through makes the bumping and jolting a part of the adventure!
If you come up the mountain by bus, overnight stays are necessary as the bus goes up the mountain from Peña Blanca at 11 am and returns at 6.30 the following morning. To get the best of a trip by bus, we recommend a stay of two nights so that you can truly experience the best of the mountain. With a one night stay, you will only have time for an afternoon activity.
If you are considering a more extensive tour throughout Honduras, then you really should visit Beaks and Peaks Birding and Adventure Tours – a key partner in our project.
